Customer shall make sure that supplier has an explicitly stated and enforced corporate policy on SQA. Customer shall have inside information about supplier. It is only the tip of the iceberg to state software engineering standards in the RFP and then forget about SQA. Customer shall evaluate supplier SQA personnel capability to fulfill the required task profile before selecting a supplier. Customer shall request on contractual basis SQA plan with deliverable items time table. Customer shall monitor supplier SQA activity on a continuous basis. Customer interface with supplier SQA shall be stated as part of the contract between customer and supplier. Combined in-house SQA and customer IVV&T is the best customer solution for product quality. Interaction of in-house SQA and customer IVV&T should be minimized or even prevented. Both functions shall be independent.
